The 1st of April 2023 marked 100 years since the establishment of the customs border on the island of Ireland. On 1st of April 1923, customs posts, stations and patrols were established at strategic points along the border, changing how people moved and interacted in border areas for generations to come. This website showcases the results of a project to mark the centenary of the establishment of the customs posts with photographs, maps and oral history interviews, as well as links to other materials on the internet.
This project is funded by DCSDC Good Relations.
