The Strabane in which both Burrows and Cooper plied their trade was quite a prosperous regional centre of just over 5,000 people. The images in this collection reflect on many important aspects of the town; its role as a major railway hub, its markets and commercial life and of course, its people.
Strabane has changed greatly over the last century or so, the railways have gone, Strabane’s markets, which gave the town great commercial clout have also vanished. There remain however, glimpses of the old Strabane that would still be familiar to both Burrows and Cooper.
